Ruth Gilmore Langs, an American Abstract Expressionist painter, was born in 1959 in a small Midwestern city. With a lifelong passion for the arts, Ruth pursued classical painting at The American University in Washington D.C., where she studied under the esteemed artist Robert D'Arista.

In the mid 1990s, Ruth expanded her artistic range to include abstract expressionism. Her professional accomplishments feature numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as a continuous presence at The Dixboro Project. For over a decade, Ruth has dedicated herself to teaching, notably with the group, she originated, "Jumping Water Painters.”

Gilmore Langs work is highly regarded and collected. Several paintings are in the permanent collection of The University of Michigan, the private collection of William Clay and Lisa V Ford, and the Upjohn Family. Her art is celebrated for its high vibrational energy and vibrant color palette, with many describing her work as "pure joy."
